When to serve fudge?Microwave Fudge

Fudge can be served as dessert at a small dinner or a large party, it can be a special treat for the kids, or even as a small treat for yourself, as it can be stored in the refrigerator and eaten over time.  Fudge is also often served on special occasions such as birthday parties, Christmas gatherings, Valentine’s Day, Easter and can also be served at weddings.

Types of Fudge

There are many different types of fudge you can make.  There’s chocolate fudge, caramel fudge, peanut butter fudge, marshmallow fudge, fudge with nuts or fruits added, and fudge with add flavors such as vanilla or cinnamon.  Changing the ingredients of your fudge can turn a sweet dish into a savory one, or can turn a nutty fudge into a fruity fudge.  It’s a lot of fun to try and make a different fudge for each particular occasion.

Choosing a fudge recipe and ingredients:

Choosing a recipe will depend on what ingredients you would like to try as well as the occasion you are making it for.  For specific occasions such as weddings, Halloween or theme parties, you could make your fudge “themed”, by adding extra ingredients and visual additions.  Ideas such as, sprinkling coconut over the top, making a drawing of a rose with white icing on the top, placing little white dots of icing on the top, or cutting the fudge into a specific shape, can turn ordinary fudge into a delicately prepared wedding dessert.  And then there’s the different ingredients you can use to make your fudge more special and unique.

Here are some ideas to add variation to your fudge:

  • Use white chocolate
  • Add nuts such as pistachios, pecans, walnuts, almonds or peanuts
  • Add marshmallows
